Wanted to end this blog with a lighthearted post. Well almost.

http://www.myrtlebeachonline.com/617/story/692085.html I thought this fitting after our talk in class today about whether or not animals should have the same emphasis placed on their lives as we plce on human lives. This guy shot a deer, twice, and it jumped up an attacked him after he thought it was dead. It sounded like it mauled him pretty good before he was able to shoot it again. He got what he deserved, I think. I like to go fishing but hunting with guns and bows is an entirely different thing. I may be more warm to the idea if it were necessary for survival but nowadays, hunting is a sport and not for survival. That deer should have done more than just peel his scalp back. Make him feel like that deer felt when he was shot. Right?

I have never been hunting in my life besides small time fishing here and there, and I feel torn between the two sides. I do care for animals and know it seems inhumane to kill animals for sport and fun, but at the same time, this country has survived off the killing of animals for food and clothes as far back as man can remember. It is a part of our history
