CCU Calendar Changes
Online in my coastal webmail I noticed a survey about possible calendar changes for the upcoming fall 2009 semester. The survey was proposing possibly doing away with the week off for thanksgiving and extending summer break till past labor day in order for students to earn a few extra dollars during the summer. This would also mean that school would let out later in May. After reading a few questions in I realized the only way for students to earn a few extra bucks before school starts is to extend summer, not just keep it the same length in just moving the dates we start and get out. If Coastal was so worried about us students making more money why wouldnt they offer more campus jobs and job fairs on campus?

I agree. They often post jobs especially in the emails that are either far away or pay chump change. I understand that we have schedules to maintain and cannot expect much when we have a limited schedule but it is ludacris to assume that we can make more money in the summer. Some students here do not work except for the work study jobs on campus. I just happen to think that if they were so worried about us making more money and stuff, they would make it a little easier to obtain employment or at least open up avenues for more opportunities for employment.
